Gregory D’Agostino was born and raised in New York City and began taking photos at an early age with his father's Nikon film camera. He took photos at home and on the many trips his family took around the United States, visiting nearly all of the 48 contiguous states.

He pursued a life in the performing arts and earned three music degrees from The Juilliard School in New York. An active musician, Gregory has performed concerts on three continents, recorded various CDs, and has been reviewed by major publications in the U.S. and abroad.

With the advent of digital cameras, Gregory reconnected with his love of photography and now tells stories through his landscapes, portraits, and street photography. He has also combined his passions of music and photography and has photographed many performing artists. Gregory has won prizes in photo competitions and his photos have been shown in juried gallery exhibitions in New York, Houston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Vermont, and Glasgow, Scotland. His photojournalism has been published in various local NYC weekly and daily papers.

In addition to his passion for New York City, Gregory enjoys shooting in extreme environments and has shot inside the Arctic Circle for many years (Norway, Finland, Sweden, and Iceland) as well as in climatic opposites Death Valley, Arches, Capitol Reef, and Goblin national and state parks in the United States. He has shot the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) on more than 30 occasions.

Gregory has presented workshops at the Event Space of the camera superstore, B&H Photo: “Going North of the Arctic Circle” and “Death Valley: Desolation, Splendor, and How to Shoot It All.”

Gregory is a member of the New York chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP).
